  • Dr Michael Walczak

Michael graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1979, then worked in mixed practice in Mildura and Seymour. He returned to Melbourne in 1981 and worked at Monash Vet Clinic which specialized in greyhounds and movement disorders of show dogs. He has been at Doncaster Veterinary Hospital since 1985.

Michael is a great believer that children benefit from growing up with pets and following on from this, pets become good companions through our entire life. The human/pet bond can be as strong as family ties.

In recent years he has taken an interest in geriatrics. With improved nutrition and health care animals are living longer and we as veterinarians must make those latter years as comfortable as possible.

Michael is married to Debbie with 3 children (Claire, Christine and Mark). They live with the lovable Oscar, a Poodle X Bichon and new addition, Luna the cat. Michael's 'grand'-cat Frank, a Ragdoll, also visits regularly when his daughter Clare is on holidays and to beat up Oscar. In his spare time he is a 'tragic' Melbourne AFL supporter, loves good food, wine and conversation, can't get enough time for golf and longs for lazy holidays and seafood at Noosa beach.
